The internet, especially with the dawn of smartphones, has allowed us to do some incredible things. Not only does it allow us to connect with the world like never before, but there are more practical applications for the web than most of us would ever dream.
Yet the changes that were brought about by this technology are not all positive. In fact, as we get more plugged in, some scary parts of society are revealed. One man’s story is a prime example of this. He begins by sharing a strange experience on Reddit, then things take a turn for the worst…
Youtube user FatNDepressed has a smartphone app that allows him to get notifications that he has a visitor each time his doorbell rings. It’s actually pretty useful, but do you notice the time stamps on these notifications? Something is definitely wrong with this picture…

The doorbell also takes a picture each time that somebody rings it. FatNDepressed shared this one on Reddit. Apparently, this person was stalking him.

It gets worse: since posting that photo, FatNDepressed has been inactive on Reddit.

Some have suggested that FatNDepressed fell victim somehow to the person behind the door. Given the way that the story began, it seems entirely possible.

Some people have commented that they know him personally, and claim that he is fine. Yet there’s no way to verify these claims. After all, the internet allows people to say whatever they want, and even pretend to be whomever they wish.
