Under No Circumstances Does Persian Cat Tolerate Feet

People tend to think that, generally, cats don’t like to be petted. This, according to scientists, is a myth and common misunderstanding of feline behavior.

Cats love to be petted – when you do it in the right places at the right time.

For instance, head, chin, and neck are usually their favorite spots for petting, while having their tail petted doesn’t suit all cats. Of course, it goes without saying, that even though there are generally preferred spots for petting, owners should pay close attention to their pets’ reactions to their touch and be able to interpret the signs they give them.
Now, of course, experts say that breed also matters, as some breeds are more affectionate than others. Persian chinchilla cats, to be specific, are found to be more extrovert and playful than other Persian cats. They are said to be loving, sweet and affectionate, while also generally quiet and inactive.

That’s right, a man has uploaded a video in which he can be seen petting his Persian Chinchilla cat. At some point, he tries to touch her with his foot and her reaction is hilarious!

The man starts petting the kitty’s side while she’s stretching in a way that denotes she’d welcome some petting. She seems to enjoy it until he stretches out his leg, touching her with his foot. The cat then gets mad at him and tries to bite his toes. The man is laughing because, apparently, he has tried this before and he had the same reaction on the part of the cat.
This happens a couple more times in the video. The cat is casually walking in the living room, the man taps her back so she understands he wants her to lay down in order to be petted. The cute fluffball indeed lays on her side and is ready for some good old petting. But her joy doesn’t last long since the man tries to touch her with her foot once again.

The video of Mimi biting her owner’s toes has gone viral since it was uploaded, with more than 5M views. People have commented on how funny the video was, tried to explain the cat’s behavior and tried to guess what she was thinking when the foot was approaching.

“She is thinking ‘I’m persian but not a carpet,’” someone wrote. Another user commented: “That’s the way to train your humans! The hand is OK, but the foot is not!” while someone tried to explain her behavior by saying: “Common sense would tell you that the cat thinks you gonna step on her…”
