Here’s Why ‘High School Musical 4’ Might Actually Become A Reality

There are few movie phenomenons that have risen over the past few decades as successful as High School Musical from 2006. High School Musical 2 is the highest rated original movie premiere on the on the Disney channel. It clocked in with 17.2 million viewers

High School Musical 2 came out in 2007, which means that was officially quite a long time ago. It is still the most watched basic cable broadcast ever. Between 2006 and 2007, the movies made about $1 billion in profit

Fun fact: High School Musical 3 was going to be called Haunted High School Musical. It was going to be a Halloween-themed movie. Not surprisingly, that didn’t happen. It was instead just regular old high school, and was the only High School Musical to appear in theaters.

For years there have been rumors swirling of High School Musical 4 coming into production. There was even a fan-made trailer that got people’s hope us high. But, unfortunately it was fake

The trailer is not as much of a tease as it seems. High School Musical 4 is, in fact, actually happening. Yes, there will be a High School Musical 4, but it’s not what you think.

Details about the upcoming movie are secretive, but it’s been confirmed there will indeed be a new movie. However, it will feature new characters entirely. None of the original cast are coming back to reprise their role

That’s right, unfortunately the original cast is not on board to come back to the movie franchise. But there might be one actress from the group that’s willing to at least make an appearance. Monique Coleman, who played Taylor McKessie, may be willing to return

.

“Honestly, I would do that movie!” said Coleman in an interview. She was referring to a High School Musical with the original cast reprising their roles. However, with that attitude, she may make a guest appearance in the upcoming movie
.

Besides Coleman, there is more hope that a true High School Musical 4 will happen. “I would like to be a part of it in any way that I can. I had the time of my life it started a whole new career for me. If High School Musical 4 worked out with my schedule and Gary [Marsh] and the team request my involvement, I would be very, very open to it,” said Kenny Ortega, the film’s original director

“I mean, I’m 28. I could be a teacher, but I refuse to be a teacher! I’m still a teenager at heart. So probably not with me, but I’m excited to see what they whip together,” Vanessa Hudgens said about coming back to her role

So most of the other actors are not looking to come back, but excited about the prospect of what the new movie may bring. There will be five new leads. Does this sound like a familiar formula?

Actors and actresses from everywhere are attending the auditions to make to into the cast of the new movie. They’ll be filling out the main roles, which sounds very similar to their previous counterparts. Their names are Erin, Campbell, Nathalie, Tamara, and Derek

At an audition at the Anaheim Convention Center in 2016, fans were met with an overwhelming surprise. Corbin Bleu appeared to address the young stars trying out for the movie. He told them that it wasn’t about becoming a movie star, but bonding and working hard
.

“I think that’s why we had that lightning in a bottle magic,” said Bleu about the previous movies. “I hope these kids capture that. The feeling that they’re feeling now – it’s about sharing it.” Like Bleu, we have high hope for the movie as well.

High School Musical 4 is officially happening, but there is no set release date. If it’s anything like its predecessors, it’s time to get ready for a new generation of Disney stars to make their way onto the screen. We’re ready for some more drama and catchy songs
